Meadowood Recreation Area
The Bureau of Land Management Meadowood mountain bike trails are a hit with riders of all skill levels. In addition to an easy to navigate perimeter loop, the Meadowood mountain bike trails include three internal trails (The Boss Trail, Stinger, and Yard Sale) that offer intermediate to advanced mountain bikers several man made features to test their skills on, including a set of high wooden berms, several rock obstacles and multiple opportunities to take your bike airborne.
GETTING THERE
TAKE ACTION - DONATE NOW!
Donations made directly through this page go directly to the selected trails system and help MORE and its trail liaisons purchase materials, tools and hire the expertise necessary to help us maintain and sustain world class trails in the Washington DC Metropolitan region.
$10 Minimum Donation. Please change the quantity to increase your donation.
* When donating to a specific trail system MORE will endeavor to use your donation as it was designated, but under extenuating circumstances may assign the funds to other trails/projects in consultation with the appropriate trail liaison or project leader in such cases as, including but not limited to, the closure of the park, failure of the project to move forward, completion of the project under budget, extended periods of inactivity and/or other factors limiting the ability to apply the funds to the original intended designation.
The Meadowood Recreation Area includes trails for all ability levels. That said, beginners should use extreme caution, especially on Boss, Yard Sale and Stinger. Several of the elevated wood features can be dangerous to ride and should only be attempted by intermediate riders. MORE subscribes to IMBA's trail difficulty ratings
MORE Volunteers donated 200 hours of their time to help maintain the trails at The Meadowood Recreation Area in 2018.
i like this one better than fountainhead for a couple of reasons, multiple intemediate trails with skinnys. wall rides and a jumptrail, now i only rode fountainhead once ant went home but this trail i went for 3 rides in one day because it was low traffic and fun.
I happened upon Meadowood around a year ago and it is now my favorite place to ride in Northern Virginia.
Love Meadowood. It's one of my local trails, so I get to ride it regularly and have crafted a tour that hits every trail in the system. You can easily ride 10 + miles if you hit every trail once and then do the perimeter loop in the opposite direction. Regardless, no matter if you ride all of it, or just session Yard Sale or Boss, you are bound to have a good time. Please do stay off it after rain, the Belmont side of the perimeter loop is notorious for retaining water, and constant use by bikes and walkers is taken a toil.
