2023 MoCo Epic - October 7-8, 2023

(Raindate: October 14-15)

The MoCo Epic is MORE's largest annual fundraiser and community event. Profits from the MoCo Epic support MORE's work to provide public, natural surface trails for everyone.
50% of the profits are reinvested directly in YOUR natural surface trails!
Want to do even MORE for local trails? Donate to the General Trail Fund (GTF) during registration. GTF supports "in the dirt projects" led by MORE's trail/park liaisons all over the DMV.

MoCo Epic Proceeds - For the past 5 years, proceeds have been placed in a fund dedicated to improving the MoCo Epic trails! Past projects include:
  • Professional builder Refurbishment of the Schaeffer white loop including moving 1/3 mile of trail off the gas line ROW and into the woods
  • Purchase of two brush mowers and two gas powered hedge trimmers to keep Schaeffer Farm trails open in the summer
  • Replace rotting bridge on the Seneca Ridge Trail
Planned future projects near term focus on upgrading 3.5 miles of the Seneca Greenway trail, including two miles along the dangerous Game Preserve Road, to allow it to open to bikes
  • Build safe passage under Clopper Road
  • Redo several steep sections to be passable by bikes
  • Build a new 20 foot bridge and reroute of a section that is falling into Seneca Creek.
An equal amount initially went into MORE's general funds. Of this amount $50,000 has since been transferred to MORE's General Trail Fund, and has helped finance new trail at Patapsco, Bacon Ridge, Lake Fairfax, and Locust Shade among others.
