LOST RIVER STATE PARK

The Lost River Trail system will begin official development in the Spring of 2021. The system will take advantage of the pristine and rugged mountain terrain in and around Lost River State Park, West Virginia. The park is composed of 3700 acres of hardwood covered ridges and a newly added and undeveloped 200+ acre parcel earmarked specifically for mountain bike trail development. The project is being led by the Lost River Trail Coalition (LRTC).

The LRTC formed in late 2020 and is headed up by local cyclists dedicated to the task of creating a trail network that is sustainable and accessible to riders of all skill levels. The LRTC is working with local groups to foster a grassroots effort within the park and with national groups such as IMBA, NICA, and other trail building entities to ensure that the system is built to the highest standard and always with the end user in mind.

Trail access is expected to roll out in mid-2021 with incremental build outs taking place for the foreseeable future as the network is funded and able to expand.
