GREENBRIER STATE PARK

Located in the Appalachian Mountains, Greenbrier State Park holds eleven miles of challenging trails in this beautiful and quiet area of Western Maryland. The trails are rocky and fairly technical, and there is a good amount of elevation change to be had.

The park is open year-round, and has many amenities, including camping (with two pet-friendly loops) and bath facilities, as well as a 42-acre man-made freshwater lake for paddling, swimming, and fishing. A portion of the Appalachian Trail enters the eastern edge of the park on Bartman's Hill Trail.

There is a fee to drive into the park, though there is free parking outside the park. Greenbrier often reaches capacity on weekends and holidays, and note that there are no left turns permitted into the park entrance on weekends and holidays, so use of alternate parking outside the park to access the trail system is advised during those busy periods.

Alternate Parking: 21338 Greenbrier Rd, Boonsboro, MD 21713
