Resources, Procedures and Instructions

Adding or updating a new MORE Document:

Step 1 - UPLOAD THE FILE

  1. Make sure you have the document ready to go on your computer - it is important to give it a simple, plain english name - like: MORE-2020-Financial-Statements.pdf before you upload it - makes it easier to locate in the file list
  2. Log into Shopify and click the "Settings" link in the bottom left hand corner of the admin screen
  3. Locate the files widget and click it
  4. Click the "Upload files" button in the to right corner of the screen and follow the prompts. Once the file has been uploaded make note of its new url - copy it to your clipboard

STEP 2 - ADD THE FILE INFO TO THE DOCUMENTS ELEMENT

  1. From the Shopify Admin click the "Apps" link on the left hand navbar
  2. Click the Shogun Page Builder App
  3. Click "Advanced" from the top menu
  4. Click MORE Documents" under the Data Collections heading
  5. Make sure not to change or add properties, make sure you scroll down to the "Entries" section.
  6. If you are updating an existing document scroll down to the bottom of the page and find it on the list of available documents, click the "Edit" button, otherwise and make the necessary updates, e.g.  Paste the URL you copied from step 1 above into the "documenturl" field. If you are adding a new document simply scroll down the page to the "entries Section and fill in the blanks for documentname, documenturl and documenticon (for document icon you should enter one of the following values: waiver, bike, pdf, certificate, financial, form, chart, policy, report, info). If you enter nothing in documenticon a simple info icon will display
  7. Click "Save Entry"

Your document changes should now reflect on the MORE Documents page

I have a ticket open because I don't see a "delete" option. And I'm trying to figure out how to "randomize" entries on the display page.

Elections

We run the election through a Constant Contact Survey so that we can ONLY send the message to MORE Members

  1. At least 1 - 2 months before elections advertise vacancies - see sample: https://more-mtb.org/blogs/news/more-board-of-director-elections-and-position-descriptions-copy
  2. Open nominations process and advertise in Trailhead News
  3. Get Bios from candidates
  4. At least One week before election post a blog post alerting site visitors that MORE members will receive an email with candidate bios - put a big JOIN NOW TO VOTE button on it (Use civi to email ONLY members) - Also generate an email list of current members to use with constant contact (see sample: https://more-mtb.org/blogs/news/2021-more-board-of-director-elections)
  5. When election starts, send a constant contact Survey to members with candidates - see sample: http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07egst5754k48yol7n/_tmp/greeting - The link can be placed on the web site or delivered by email; however, results will show respondents who access the survey via this link, as anonymous.
  6. Tabulate results at end of election cycle
