Board of Directors Elections for 2024-2026

MORE is looking for folks to serve as the next President, Maryland Advocacy Director, Virginia/DC Advocacy Director, and Communications & Marketing Director for 2024-2026.

Nominations will take place from November 18 to December 3 by email. Interested in running or know someone who's a good fit? Email nominations@more-mtb.org with the following information:

  • Short bio which can include personal and/or professional descriptions, why you/they are the best person for the job, plans for MORE and the trail community, and some fun stuff like where you enjoy riding.

President

The President is responsible for leading the Board of Directors and the organization in accordance with MORE’s vision and mission. Duties and responsibilities of the President include:

  • Formulating MORE's strategic direction
  • Building and growing our mountain biking community
  • Representing the MORE Brand at meetings and events
  • Supporting and enabling MORE's Board of Directors
  • Collaborating with fellow board members and filling in where needed
  • Fundraising to support MORE's programming and trail building/maintenance
  • Advocating for sustainable, natural surface, multi-use, public trails


Maryland Advocacy Director

The next MD Advocacy Director will continue to build upon our advocacy work and legacy in Maryland. The MD Advocacy Director works with local, state, and federal entities to help advocate for additional access and ensure existing access to natural surface trails is maintained. With the full support of the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the MD Advocacy Director works closely with the VA/DC Advocacy Director and the Trails Committee to ensure Trail Liaisons have what they need to support MORE’s mission of Riding Bikes and Building Trails. We have exciting advocacy opportunities and trail building projects in the works throughout Maryland.

Virginia/DC Advocacy Director

The next VA/DC Advocacy Director will continue to build upon our advocacy work and legacy in the NoVA and DC area. The VA/DC Advocacy Director works with local, state, and federal entities to help advocate for additional access and ensure existing access to natural surface trails is maintained. With the full support of the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the VA/DC Advocacy Director works closely with the MD Advocacy Director and the Trails Committee to ensure Trail Liaisons have what they need to support MORE’s mission of Riding Bikes and Building Trails.

We have exciting advocacy opportunities and trail building projects in the works throughout the region including Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington, and Fairfax counties, while working with the Fairfax County Park Authority, NoVA Parks, National Park Service (NPS), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to name a few.

Communications & Marketing Director

The Communications & Marketing Director is in charge of promoting the MORE brand. They will be responsible for producing and updating trailhead signage, user education materials, and MORE promotional materials. The Communications & Marketing Director will oversee the MORE online store and will have the opportunity to come up with new products for the mountain biking community. Other duties include working with the Executive Director on keeping the website up to date, as well as production of the annual report and quarterly newsletter with input from the Board of Directors. Proficiency in graphic design software is required.
